Dear All
I do hope you all followed the advice to back Dancing Rain for the Oaks. For those of you yet to see the light, please, please, please log on to Nick Mordin. he really is a genius!
The odds were stupendous as well. I backed Ante Post so didn't get the benefit of the Best Odds Guaranteed. It is essential that you take these opportunities into account.
Johnny Murtagh gave the William Haggas trained filly a canny ride switching the tempo but clearly many of the other jockeys thought they would pick up Johnny and became too detached...
I have an interest in the Derby today; having backed Carlton House at 23 many moons ago. Regrettably, laid before the Dante figuring it was an open contest and a heavy defeat by Seville or World Domination or both would scupper me. So played the safe card! Hit form since then with my wagering so perhaps would have been braver now...definite lay material today though if you are on at bigger prices after the recent setback.
Confidence behind Pour Moi appears to have levelled off - can't have that one on my mind - Carlton House and Recital will either battle out the finish or one of them will win comfortably; followed home by at least two of the other O'Brien's including Seville and probably one other though not sure which yet...
Bit behind this morning so yet to establish today's qualifiers but will endeavour (Inspector Morse's christian name you know!) to post a list, if there are any, later.
Surreal! But have been twittering with Clare Balding recently. Sounds a great lady!
Bye for now.
