Dear All
Just one qualifier today.
Small stakes on Petsas Pleasure in 3:20 at Redcar...
Good luck!

Bank Holiday Rain...
Dear All
Lots of runners today; not too many opportunities though! Lots of short-priced ones without value. Yesterday's maidens at Nottingham serve as a warning to all that short prices spell danger. Until a horse has proved it can do something is it a good idea to invest your hard-earned cash?
I had to give you Paoletta as it was a genuine qualifier via my various systems but at 1/3 on was never a viable bet. I will flag up in future whether it is a value bet or otherwise...
Tegan Lee was a disappointment and gave me more food for thought; horses out of form are risky propositions...
Eirland - typical Carberry (Paul) ride and Set In Her Ways was just good value. Beat the one ahead of her in the betting, Fashionable Gal, but still found one too good. Keep looking for Jason Maguire on Kim Baileys... potent partnership!
So to today's qualifiers:
Sluggsy Morant - 2:40 Leicester
Ostland - 3:25 Towcester (value diminishing though I have taken a shade of odds-on)
Executive's Hall - 5:05 Cartmel
Epernay - 5:50 Carlisle (value probably gone)
I have also backed this morning Fame And Glory (Ascot Gold Cup) and Dancing Rain (The Oaks). Not all my own work but nevertheless good back to lay opportunities perhaps...
Bye for now.

Barcelona versus Barzalona
Dear All
Tapping keys during half-time in the Champions' League Final. Seems strange watching United so powerless to defend against this extraordinary Barcelona team. It never happens except when United have an off day! Football is such an easy game played this way.
I hear myself making funny little noises in appreciation of the latest pass by Xavi; pass and move by the imperious Iniesta; twist and turn; move and drive forward by Messi - it is poetry in motion..!
United is a fine team but appear as if also rans. I cannot see them holding on for another 45 minutes but I will keep the faith...
I haven't yet looked to see what Barzalona's strike rate is this season but it must be sensational. What a find this boy is? Won the first two at Newmarket this afternoon.
Flowing Cape did the business for us at Catterick this afternoon. Three-quarter length winner over Collect Art, turning the tables, after a recent spin at Bath.
Vita Nova - just worn down by Roger Varian's wayward but talented Ferdoos nearly made it a good winning day...
Nothing yet for tomorrow - after United have won perhaps..!
Bye for now.

Don't let the Gremlins grind you down..!
Dear All...
IT resolved once and for all - bit late in the day though to offer too much so let's just take a quick look at today's qualifiers:
Flowing Cape - 16:40 Catterick - non-runner yesterday. Always like that as often indicates stable anxious to run when at top of the beast's game. In good form also.
Vita Nova - 15:05 Newmarket - the imperious Cecil. Tough contest so keep stakes to a minimum but improver and Queally up.
Ghimaar - 17:05 Stratford - won last twice; recent non-runner also.
Late Debate - 17:00 Navan
Good luck and happy punting...

Red Eyes (from crying!)
Dear All...
It was close wasn't it. Johnston's horse just stole a march and Billy, earning himself a whip ban for his pains, couldn't quite get the Red Eyed beast home...
Organisateur didn't win as I expected but, thankfully, was an odds-on shot so he didn't carry any of my hard earned..!
Mayoman - a promising return after sluggish start; blindfold having been left on a tad too long... one to watch! In the Notebook please...
Open the book again and enter the name Dozy - Royal Ascot bound and a serious contender for one of the juvenile races...
Tomorrow's thoughts to follow...
Nighty night!

Tomorrow's Another Day...
Dear All...
Today's qualifier is Dr Red Eye in 20:30 at Beverley... breaks with tradition in that I like a top jockey or especially Adrian, his son, on board... Billy Cray gets the ride and is more than capable...
Organisateur to win 14:30 at Newton Abbot but too short for betting purposes...
Long absence for Mayoman in 15:15 Ayr - interesting!
That's all for now.
